Just down the fields and in the Garden (or same old!)

So that's May over and we crawled up to 40 species for the month, beating April by 4. Nothing too exciting, Blackcaps have been singing and showing reasonably well in the wood and around the field.
Unusually a Great Spotted Woodpecker was out in the open,

but the star for us and a first for the fields was a Goldcrest, although it wouldn't show it's crest to the camera!

Down on the Canal we could add Moorhen chicks to the Ducklings and Goslings seen previously;
Mom getting agitated,
 I would if my kids were that ugly! That's not fair, but there not the prettiest of chicks!

Elsewhere, took a photo to show that Squirrels eat more than nuts!
As far as the garden goes, plenty of young House Sparrows are about.
 Plus a few raptors flying over from time to time;
Buzzard
 and Kestrel
We hadn't had a Greenfinch in the garden for a long time, so it was nice of one to pay a short visit.

Other things in the garden......
Red-headed Cardinal Beetles seem to have taken a shine to our Lilies, at one time there were 6 mating pairs and one billy no mates.

 We have plenty of Bees in the garden, lots of different species, if someone wants to identify these two, go for it!

One thing that seems lacking are butterflies, we've had the odd Speckled Wood and Large Whites pass through recently, but nothing else.

So I'll finish this post off with a few flowers;
