Another Week Birding in Lockdown or "Down the Cut"

So another 10 days of lock down has gone by and unlike some idiots we are abiding by the rules, I could have a rant but what's the point, those people wouldn't be reading my blog anyway.

Back to birding! We are now up to 36 species for the month, not a huge amount, but we are relying on the garden and the Powke Lane Public Open Space. We are never out more than an hour, but we enjoy the walks immensely. Since the last post we have added Jay, Bullfinch, Great Spotted Woodpecker and Pied Wagtail. We are keeping an eye on a Canada Goose Nest and looking forward to the Goslings appearing. It's amazing how when going to the same spot virtually every day you notice the gradual changes with the leaves on the trees, making it progressively more difficult to find the birds that you can hear, but on the plus side our bird call recognition is improving!

Although today a sound threw us, we couldn't make it out, until we observed a Grey Squirrel making a rachetty kind of sound, we thought it was a corvid!

Anyway here are a few photos from the last 10 days:
